The US-India Friendship Alliance (USIFA) is a New York-based 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization founded in 2004 to foster cultural, educational, and socioeconomic ties between the United States and India. Through our outreach and advocacy, we build mutually beneficial connections that allow us to fund high impact initiatives that uplift vulnerable Indian communities neglected by conventional charities.
The US-India Friendship Alliance Inc. (USIFA) bolsters purpose-driven alliances between the United States and India. The Alliance focuses on healthcare access, educational opportunity, women’s empowerment, environmental awareness and cultural enhancement. By planting seeds that blossom into collaborations from government, business, academia, and civil society, USIFA bridges the gap between values and meaningful change.
USIFA works closely with The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF), a bipartisan initiative fostering collaboration between the U.S. and India. USISPF, a Delaware non-stock corporation that was formed on July 21, 2017, is organized and operated as a business league under Section 501(c)(6) of the Code. USISPF is dedicated to creating the most powerful strategic partnership between the U.S. and India. On April 2, 2018, USISPF received an IRS determination letter indicating that it is exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(6). Its employer identification number (EIN) is 82-2265517.
On May 10, 2005, USIFA received an Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”) determination letter of qualification under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (the “Code”) and is classified as a public charity under Code Sections 509(a)(1) and 170(b)(1)(A)(vi). Its employer identification number (EIN) is 20-0711183. USIFA has adopted and adheres to a Conflict of Interest Policy. Both organizations are deeply committed to strengthening the U.S.-India relationship through advocacy and support from individuals, businesses, and government entities.
