The Loomba Foundation, in partnership with Lok Bharti and USIFA, undertook the “Prosperity for Widows” project to empower 5,000 marginalized widows in Uttar Pradesh by providing sector-specific skills training and job placement support. Lok Bharti Skilling Solutions Pvt. Ltd. identified beneficiaries who were marginalized widows and whose monthly income, from all sources, is less than Rs. 5,000/- per month, prioritizing widows with dependent children. Training was prioritized in areas matched to industry needs in Uttar Pradesh. 

As a result, 5,008 individuals received training, with 3,546 successfully placed in in-demand trades, thus fostering financial independence and social empowerment. Training sectors included hospitality, tourism, apparel and tailoring, beauty, health care, and food processing.
